Welcome to the North East Soul Union website.
We're a Soul club based in Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear, playing an
across the board mix of quality black music from R&B to 70's
Modern, Northern Soul classics, rarities and floorfillers to crossover
gems and more. We run events once a month (1st Saturday of each month)
at our current home, the Seahorse
Pub (Whitley Bay Football Club), just
next to the
Ice Rink at Whitley Bay.
Our sound system is one of the best of it's size in the region and comfortable surroundings make our venue both
relaxing and an ideal place to dance.
Our resident DJ line up brings with it a vast range of styles, taste
and knowledge as well as some of the strongest collections in the North
East. We have an unspoken vinyl only policy, not through snobbishness
or anything other than that's what we all happen to play from (owing
largely to the fact that we're all pretty much obsessive record
collecting nerds) Roughly translated that means we're always digging
for the unfamiliar (if only to us, at least) though always with an eye
on quality.
